Ms. Monét & Friends take to our stage at Tavern Bay, Thursday, August 21. She’s toured with Boz Scaggs, Michael McDonald, and Joe Bonamassa, and sung with R&B legend Soloman Burke. Critics say, “She shines, channeling the class and vocal genius of the greats before her.” She brings her extraordinary five-octave range and performing experience with Boz Scaggs, Michael McDonald, and Johnny Mathis to our stage at Tavern Bay. She’s thrilled audiences at jazz clubs and festivals: The Blue Note, Blues Alley, Ronnie Scott’s in London, The Playboy Jazz Festival, the North Sea and Montreux Festivals, and The Hollywood Bowl.
She sang on two Grammy Award-winning projects and was honored for her songwriting contribution to Ed Sheeran’s platinum hit single “Don’t.” She was one of the first “Super Saves” on “The Voice.”
Her “Friends” are George Whitty, is a Grammy Award-winning pianist and Emmy Award-winning composer. He has recorded and performed with Herbie Hancock, Dave Matthews, Celine Dion, Chaka Khan, and Santana.
Guitarist-composer Michael O’Neill has written music for dozens of television shows and won awards for his film scores. He’s played on recordings with Al Jarreau, George Benson, Rickie Lee Jones, Toni Braxton, and Barbra Streisand.
Bass guitarist André Berry played his first jazz gig with Rick Braun in ’95 and has since toured with David Sanborn, Dave Koz, Tom Scott & the LA Express, and the Deep Fried Funk Society.
Drummer Joel Taylor has toured and recorded with artists Josh Groban, Herb Alpert, David Foster, and Bobby Caldwell. He says, “I hit things for a living, but I’m a softy for kitty cats.”
Opening act for Thursday includes DAP (Digital Audio Projekt) and a performance and Awards Ceremony featuring Blue Jay Jazz Foundation 2025 Future Generation Jazz Scholars.
